Position Summary

Shift: M-F 8am-5pm, Summer 2027 Location: Madison, WI 100% Onsite Catalent’s Madison, Wisconsin site is a state‑of‑the‑art biologics development and manufacturing facility supporting customers from research through early‑and mid‑stage clinical production. Located at 726 Heartland Trail in Madison, the approximately 102,700‑square‑foot GMP facility specializes in mammalian cell line engineering, drug substance biomanufacturing, and biopharmaceutical development, utilizing flexible single‑use systems to enable rapid scale‑up and customization. The site is home to Catalent’s proprietary GPEx® and GPEx® Lightning technologies, which are used to generate high‑yielding mammalian cell lines for biologic therapies, and supports production scales ranging from 50 to 4,000 liters for clinical manufacturing. Following a $45 million expansion announced in 2025, the Madison site has significantly increased capacity, added new equipment, and created approximately 200 highly skilled biohealth jobs, further strengthening its role within Catalent’s global biologics network and Wisconsin’s growing life sciences ecosystem. We have an opportunity for a 2027 Intern - Technical Writing - PD, DS to join our team. In this role, you will assist with maintaining and improving document templates and formatting standards. You will support continuous improvement projects focused on drafting efficiency and collaborate with technical writers and cross‑functional teams to enhance documentation processes. This internship offers hands‑on experience in technical writing and document management within a dynamic biologics environment.

The Role

• Maintain and enhance document templates, formatting standards, and document management systems.
• Support process improvement and automation initiatives to increase drafting efficiency.
• Troubleshoot and maintain Microsoft Word‑based tools, macros, and related applications.
• Collaborate with technical writers and cross‑functional teams to improve documentation processes and user experience.
• Manage documentation records, support project execution, and ensure compliance with company procedures, quality, and safety standards.

The Candidate Minimum Requirements

• Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university.
• Undergraduate or graduate student pursuing a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) or a related field with an interest in writing.
• Ability to work full‑time (40 hours per week) for a 12‑week period over the summer.
• Previous internship, laboratory, manufacturing, research, or professional experience in a related field is preferred.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).
• Individual may be required to sit, stand, and walk regularly.
• Individual may occasionally be required to lift up to 5 pounds.

Preferred Skills & Background

• Interest in gaining document‑based experience.
• Helpful to have a biological background, though open to other fields.
• Comfortable working with cross‑functional teams and engaging with others to ask questions and gather information.
